The construction work is forecast to continue until the End of July 2007, if not longer. During this time the Terrace Rim Naam and Baan Noi will remain open as usual.

A gently hued space in pale ivory sets the background for hazy blues and scarlet accents. The suite is colourful and fresh. The silk draperies pluck the scarlet from the room and mix it with spring green and light yellows. The Master bedroom in Celadon is accented with gold leaf and a pair of crystal and silver bedside lamps. The adjoining bedroom suite no less a Master on its own pays homage to the nautical side of The Selandia. Teak floors with panelled walls/navy striped cotton draperies and red accents give this room a distinct feel. Brass cornered campaign style tables work with ivory striped silk soft seating to add to the mood and maintain the luxury. A collection of photographs and engravings/of ships and world maps, make one wonder where The Selandia has sailed. A Burmese theatrical dancers trunk talks about a traveller of a different sort perhaps lending a clue to the ships passage. * A2S - The Oriental 2 Bedroom Suite The Oriental Suite has returned in a grand manner. The exquisite timber panel details throughout the suite remain completely untouched expect of course for a fresh coat of paint. Careful manipulation and supplementation of the soft furnishings as well as an extensive artwork and artifact collection now rest comfortably on its solid foundation. A colour palette with variety weaves it way through the suite. Creams along with both pale and energetic citron work with varying shades of cobalt in the main living room. A rattan sitting area is enriched with a warm peach hued Kashmir carpet. The Dining Room in its original palatial colour scheme of taupe and mauve is made dramatic with a magnificent Oriental carpet. The Master Suite is warm and enveloping in tones of russet and apricot accented with charcoal and pewter. An old teak wardrobe armoire provides a simple accent to the original pineapple canopy bed. Bedroom two is fresh and relaxing with greens and cognac accents. Two beautifully carved gold leaf timber fragments flank the Northern Thai style painted media armoire. Collectively the rooms of the suite are designed in a classic and timeless manner elegant and refined. The collection of art is varied as are the accessories which bespeak the history of the suite.
